Welcome to the site.

What kind of mileage do you get with your XL650V? A while back I had pondered getting a Suzuki 650 V-twin. It looked like a fun bike.

In the two years since I got it I average 45 MPG Imp.
I have changed the air filter to a foam piper cross and I have just replaced the front sprocket with a 16 tooth which is +1.
I intend to try each mod for a while to see the difference.

I have only just refilled the bike after the Sprocket change so the next tankful will be the first for this mod.

Welcome to EM! Looking forward to the outcome of the next tank. One mod at a time is a smart move for discerning results.
