Thanks, Earl, for focussing on ecomodding a large car, especially a Crown Vic.
I'm hoping to get into an earlier one that has aluminum hood and decklid for less weight--this would be for one last road trip before I have to quit driving.
Probably you have a 3.27 or even a 3.55 rear if it's a P-71 (ex-cop), in which case 28 mpg would be an accomplishment.
However if it's a base model it possibly has a 2.73 rear and I've heard of as high as 30-31 mpg stock on them.

glad to see that worked.

the injected cars open with one big freakin flap, the limiter is a welcome smart think.

it is not like messing with progressive two barrels ...
a crown vic hasnlt been there in a long time....

...and the old crown vic? 30mpg was not uncommon.

in fact I still keep an eye out for the later models, cop car version at auction. (simply for the modern steering rack- else, I'd even run an older 80s one.)
