Landmark Texas television ad.

Perhaps for the first time in recorded history,an advertisement for a plug-in hybrid car appeared on Texas broadcast television. Not a pure EV,but a way out ahead of nothing.
The car is Volvo's XC60 hybrid.
To my knowledge, this has never happened before.
So score one for the Chinese!

I have seen an advertisement for the plug in prius when I was in ft.worth, so that would have been 2016 or 2017.
Texas actually has a lot more electric vehicles than I thought they would, well a lot more than new Mexico on a per capita compairson.

We briefly had a 2012 Nissan Leaf . Until it was rear ended and totaled .

Where I live , there were / are very few public charging facilities & no DC fast charge facilities . Maybe a different story if we lived in Dallas / Ft. Worth , Austin , Houston , etc. .

We knew up front it would be charge at home only .

After the loss of the Leaf , I looked at a used Chevy Volt . I liked the idea of a plug in hybrid .

But could not find many and none in the price range I was willing to pay . And the Volt did not have enough internal room to satisfy me and my wife .

Wyr
God bless
