Cool Leaf Powered by 30kw Leaf Blower?

Almost.

The Capstone turbine is not very efficient. Also it costs as much as the car.

I was thinking that same thing.

Wouldn't it be a better setup to have a diesel-powered generator running WVO or biodiesel?

I'm wondering if it was done due to weight considerations? Or maybe because Sadow wanted something "clean" burning. If the former, the weight would probably be inconsequential compared to the aerodynamics.

Oh, and FIRST!

If you all regard a Capstone Turbine as a "leaf blower" in them thar parts, I'da like to apply for a gah'denin position...

Even a small block chevy would be more efficient.

Capstone turbines aren't exactly cheap nor do they fall off the backs of trucks. I'm guessing he has a promotional deal with Capstone in exchange for the turbine. He certainly doesn't need a 30kw generator to keep the Leaf rolling down the highway. That company has been burning investor money for over a decade. Their air bearing technology is novel and thats about it.
