light wheels

Just bought a set of centerline storm wheels. Weight 11.8 lbs. My original wheels weight 26.5 lbs. Might be awhile before I install these but I am guessing the weight difference should make a big improvement in a lot of different departments of performance.

Better braking, handling, acceleration (noticeably, even) and less unsprung mass. They'll suit you well.

Thats awsome. 14.2 lbs off per wheel, that should be good for some mpg.

I'm still on the fence regarding wheel weight and mpg. In theory it should make a big impact but in the Prius world it doesn't seem have much of and effect on mpg. I'd be curious to see how they work for you. Hopefully you will use the same exact tires to rule out any variables there.

Best gains would be seen if you did a lot of stop and go driving.

You'll definitely feel the difference.
My summer tyres are some 10 lbs heavier, and I feel that through the power steering !

Lighter is better. Tall tire test.

11.8 lbs is incredible light. Nice upgrade !

IIRC for every 1 lb of rotating weight it is the equvialant of removing 7 lbs from the chassis. That being said, for each wheel you replace its like removing 100 lbs from your car.

Maybe it's that the light wheel reduces the amount of energy that can be had from regen braking. I know a couple people on priuschat have done a lot of testing with 17s and shown the heavy weight made a fuel economy hit.

OP where did you get them and in what size? I'm also looking for a light pair of wheels and like these.
