lil old lady schooled me!

I was driving my truck and trying to remember stuff about hypermiling .. tried EOC trying to keep foot off accelerator etc (still learning) .. got behind a little old lady driving slow so noone would bother me for being slow. City driving ... hills .. lights .. traffic .. a nightmare. BUT ... I was behind that lady for 19 blocks .. 4 hills up and down .. three right turns and two left turns and she didn't touch her brakes ONCE untill the final left turn into a driveway on a down hill. I am starting to wonder if there is a hypermiling subculture of old people

Pretty impressive! You should find her and find out what kind of mpg she was getting. What kind of car was she driving?

All of them own Buicks and Lincolns and other land yachts, and with a social security pension as well as a retirement plan I'm sure they have to compensate for all of those trips to the Sun Belt.

Pushing 30 MPG in an Eldorado ain't bad.

My 83 year old mother and I hopped on a plane, flew from Newport News Va to Orlando Florida, bought a 2001 Eldorado for Pop and drove it 800 miles back to Va.

We arrived at her home almost exactly 24 hours after we left the ground on the plane, and managed 28 MPG in the car.

It did take her a little extra time to get through security at the airport, due to two titanium hip replacements.

regards
Mech
