The LIT C1 bets the future of driving on a gyro-balanced two-wheeler | Motoramic - Yahoo! Autos
I'm usually late to the party by posting links but I don't remember seeing this here.
1300 ft-lb of torque, 200-mile range, 0-60 in 6 seconds, 120-mph top speed.
Initial cost around $24,000, with the price falling to $19,000 after tax credits. They are aiming for $12,000 with credits as final production price.
I would soooooo be into it at $12K. My current bike, a Valkyrie, only has about a 160 mile range, so I can get pretty far one-way and even farther if I can charge at my destination. 90% of the time I'm driving, I'm alone anyway and I know my GF would love it if I traded in my ride for this. DC area traffic is not biker friendly (motorcycle or bicycle).
If the video true, this thing can be broadsided and not tip over.
My hope is that 4-5 years down the line an optional small range extending motor, a la Volt.
