Exclamation LIVE FROM NY it's a 95 Subaru impreza awd wagon!

Hey guys/gals,

My name is Tarik.

I have a 1995 Subaru Impreza outback sport 5spd awd.

I have a mainly hwy commute at the moment and most of it is uphill to work.
I drive bear mountain, palisades and 287 everyday. I beat rush hour traffic 95% of the time.

now I normally get between 26-29 mpg with this thing. I cruise around 65-75.
It has a roof rack and a ton of ground clearance. now I wont be lowering the car or getting rid of the mirrors because I go offroading occasionally and IMHO getting rid of mirrors for a road car is just not wise..

ok so planned mods are as follows
Roof rack removal
smooth hub caps
front lower spat
front wheel spats
rear wheel spats
smooth underbody panels (probably end up getting skid plates)
taller Low rolling resistance tires
spoilers
increase tire pressure

I think it should be possible to get into the low 30 to mid 30's.

any more ideas that won't affect driveability, (moving mirrors, affecting airflow for cooling etc.)

I've been diving around the site a bit and seeing what could work for me.

Welcome to the site Tarik.

I look forward to seeing some of these mods come to fruition. At 65-75 mph you're really going to see the effects of aeromods.

My dad managed to get a little more than 20MPG in city and often could even reach 35MPG on highway with a 2011 Impreza he had, which was also fitted with a 5-speed manual and AWD. All that with the Brazilian gasoline which has a high ethanol content, notably bad for fuel economy.
