I have a 98 honda civic automatic and just tonight my car got up to a 90% load and would be down to a 30% load at idle. It's almost impossible to keep my load at one certain %. Maybe with the hybrid it's able to keep the gas engine at a more constant load?

I'm pretty sure I've seen the load % go up to 100 on my UltraGauge... but generally I just try to avoid that situation
I'll give it some boot just to check when I get home.

So I gave it some boot on the highway, and accelerating away from a traffic light; in both cases I just floored it hard suddenly.

Highway: 55 mph constant speed, 45-ish% engine load to 100.0%: Instantly. Just one reading in between because of the 2 second measuring slot being half-filled.

Traffic light: about 25 mph, gently pulling away at 60% engine load and low revs.
Took a bout 4 seconds to get to 100.0%, maybe TC induced. It kinda jumped forward.

Maybe your SG reads something different than my UG?
Sure you have selected engine load, not something else like intake pressure? That will never get to 100% (although I have seen readings over 100 kPa when the barometric pressure was 102 kPa, so it can get close)
