I just helped my long time car free friend buy a car.
Hes getting serious with his girl and she would like a car.
I know hes going to cook this one too and be without a car again soon.
I lived in asia without a car or scooter. So many buses and trucks with long bench seats in the back. Gas was really cheap but no one could afford it or cars so they took public transport.
Only a few of the people who could have a car, actually choose not too, most want one.
I think 95% or more of people would like to have a car, but many are unable either financially or managing the vehicle ownership and reliability or ability to drive.
Now I dont feel so bad owning a dozen gas powered vehicles (not including chainsaws or outboards).
