i guess i just got lucky, because my ninja 250 starts and idles just fine, as long as i use the choke, in any weather. i have rode it all this past winter, except for when it snowed, and it never gave me a problem. i have read alot of other people talking about their ninja 250 giving them fits, but like i said, maybe i got lucky with my bike. dont know. all i have to do is turn key on, turn on the choke, and hit the starter button.

out of all the bikes i have owned over the years, i think pretty much all of them were like this. but i ride all year long, so my bikes never get a chance to set for more than a couple of days, or a week at most in the winter. maybe that makes all the difference.

Sure.
BMW sell expensive kits to do that.

But you can use any trickle-charging battery tender and make yourself a clean , weather shielded connector (they are sold separately, either from BMW or some other company) to plug in the battery charger.
It's nothing more than a few electric wires and a connector.

Then I think I'll just use the connector for my heated gloves in the reverse direction...
