How often do you use the "Preview Post" button ?

I remarked the longer is a post I'm writing, the more I hit the "Preview Post".

At some stage, I hit it so often that I spend more time to re-read the Preview than to write the Post itself

Some people would say "slowly but surely"

Denis.

PS I have to confess that I dislike when it's blatant that someone sent a message without having read it at least once.
No attack against anybody here.
I was thinking about that because how my nephews are writing on Internet...

One more line item would be perfect for me

You didn't give me the option of;
"at least once per, but on the long ones several"
sometimes I get windy,
other times I just make a short comment.
so in conclusion,
On a long post ... maybe 2 or 3 times,
On a short one ... Once,
Schultz

groar -

Over and over again. Sometimes a 1 or 2 paragraph post may be the sum of an hour of distillation of URL searches and/or carefully composed words.

If I am worried about losing the post to Internet wonkiness, I copy/paste it into Notepad and work on it there.

(only one preview this time!)

I use it quite a bit if I'm writing a longer message. Short ones I don't generally use it on.

I honestly never post outside of the quick reply box because I am a very very very lazy person.

I do the same but only because it saves me bandwidth. I am still on dialup and can only get 28.8 with my 56k modem on these crappy old lines.

Often I will end up editing my post afterwards though.

Depending on the post, maybe none, maybe once, maybe a whole lot more. 95% of the time I just do the quick reply and move on. 4% will get a "once" if there's a picture or something I want to make sure is correct. 1% are long winded and probably more confusing than is necessary or I'm doing something funky like adding a table.

And then I go back and edit again anyway because I messed up something that spell check doesn't pick up on. Every post is re-read at least twice, though, and I still mess things up

Much like CarloSW2 - quite often, because I want others to be able to understand what I have to say. [pressed preview button]

I'm not saying everyone should be a perfectionist, but rereading your post and at least knowing what a spell checker is should be a minimum. [pressed preview button] Otherwise, your post may be unintelligible, which IMO is inconsiderate of other members spending their time here. [pressed preview button] I know that English is not everyone's first (or even second) language, but the least comprehensible posts I've read here were not written by members who I would expect to have the largest lingual problems. I'll refrain from pointing fingers. [pressed preview button]

Depends on weather I am quoting summon. Most of the thyme I just yous kwik replay, butt whenever I'm in the proper replay fing, I wool preview at leest ones. My Webb bowser (chrome) haz a build in speel checka sew even if my paust max no cents, my spelling is okay.

Amazingly, my spell checker says that the above is perfectly okay (I disagree with it, and so does Wiktionary). Translation below.

Depends on whether I am quoting someone. Most of the time I just use Quick Reply, but whenever I'm in the proper reply thing, I'll preview at least once. My web browser (Chrome) has a built in spell checker, so even if my post makes no sense, my spelling is okay.
