Then just start with 1 gallon. That shouldn't take more 1-2 hours.

What about OBD tools, like ScanGauge?

Why not?
If the engine is on, you see the fuel consumption.
If not, you see zero.

ScanGauge will not turn off when the engine is killed. This is for hydrids and start-stop engines, but comes in helpful for EOCing hypermilers.

Sensors read correctly (map instead of maf though). I’m building an mpguino with a raspi pico, and I’ll see what my actual fuel consumption is before testing anything else.

What do you think we all use? we all just use scan gauges or now obd2 plug ins and bluetooth to a phone or tablet.

My bad. Need to proactively not do that.
Yup. Go get a obd2 dongle off of amazon and find an app that will pair with it. $20 later you should be able to see your trouble sensor.
