Well, at least some company is trying to bring diesels to the USA. Maybe if they made the engines in Germany the reliability would be better.

the new Passat weighs 500lbs less than last years and the price is thousands less than last years and
it gets better fuel economy and has a better cd - i can still climb into the trunk and close the lid
and i am over 6'2" and weigh 225 lbs .

not many new cars weigh 500lbs less and cost thousands less than last years versions and
they are as fast as
a runaway camel with his hump on fire and handle like slot cars .

the TDi s get 43 mpg with up to 2.4 bar of boost , stock , that would be 1.4 bar over baro or about 18psi of boost ,
stock.
it will take a while for the koreans and chinese to clone / copy / steal / implement that technology , successfully .

VW has had a long slide down to the bottom. They are currently ranked at the very bottom of the list of competitors for quality. They can always turn it around but customer loyalty once lost takes a very long time to turn around.

The TDI costs $26k not the $20k you claimed
The new Passat does not weigh 500lb less than the previous model.
Most of the components including the engine and transmission are Manufactured in Mexico or Europe. Final assembly point is in Tennessee.

assembled and manufactured in the USA by workers in USA

yes there is 500 lbs less weight

i have actual VW information that you do not have

did i add
VW sales for the year so far are up 22% over this time last year

just returned a 2003 passat with AWM 1.8 turbo to the customer with the original engine and transmission and 273k miles ... how many 2003 korean imports are on the road with 273k miles ? .... 2 ? 3 ? less ?
