It's funny that most of the remarkable drag reduction is taking place with these cross-dresser SUVs.

Demand drives product, gas prices are back down to reasonable and people like driving big vehicles, give them a decent size SUV junior with good gas mileage and they're happy. To be completely honest I'd consider the acura for my soon to be wife if it came in a honda model.

Really? I suppose that explains why Detroit has been losing market share ever since the first VW Beetle landed on these shores, and is now on the verge of bankruptcy. That "but people like driving big vehicles" meme has been such a resounding success, hasn't it?

Our still-current SUV addiction requires manufacturers to ease buyers into the relatively new segment of high H-point seating vehicles using lighter sedan or minivan platforms. They must include 4+ seating, high ground clearance & optional AWD capabilities. They market them as CUV or SAV so not to have the negative stigma of minivans and current SUVs. They package them in new aero & sleek bodies, have sharper handling but softer sedan rides and could have high-mpg, multi-fuel or hybrid powerplants. Aero or 'Cd awareness' is expected in the new FE exterior designs.
