67.2mpg on a Renault Clio

Very pleased with myself, just achieved 67.2mpg on my way home from work! Thats the highest I've ever got. Didnt last long though as I got stuck in traffic straight after for 10 mins.

Mainly down to driving techniques and coasting 1 mile out of 5 miles.

Average up until I reached traffic, around about 20 miles to get to that mpg.

hi, thats pretty damn good mileage for a petrol lump..

Also gives me a good bench mark to aim for with the girlfriend's car..

Its a 1997 1.2 8v and seems to give 51 mpg uk even though she drives it like she stole it..

Now to educate her.

Good luck in your continued quest for more miles!

Your girlfriends engine is very different to mine though, 51 mpg from the 8v is very good. The body shape is similar though.

Good luck educating her though, my wife ignores me!!
