Military theme for fun ...and function

If other grown men can play army by driving military vehicles such as Hummers in a civilian setting, why can't we have a little fun too ? :D

Imagine a matte finish charcoal grey primer or matte black finish on our cars.
This would not only look 'cool' but would hide any ..ahem....imperfections :o .

A few rivets and such for that added 'military' look, as well as some stencils.

I was inspired by several cars on this site - TomO's VX with its shark mouth paint job, and BlownB10s awesome Sentra come to mind.

I was thinking of how that something like this could be functional.
If you notice, the boat-tail has a 'cool' checker pattern on it like an old WWII fighter, but this actually serves a function, since it keeps people from driving into you because you are now highly visible - The orange is fluorescent.
As mentioned before, the matte black primer paint job looks 'cool' but also hides imperfections. ( and it's inexpensive and easy to touch up !
The white and yellow checker pattern on the roof of the car serves to reflect heat on the dark car, but also goes with the warplane theme.

I think it would be cool to have little stencil decals of an oil rig to symbolize the fuel saved.
This would be like the little 'kills' stencils on warplanes.
You could put something like "75 MPG" underneath.

I forgot to mention, a major inspiration was also the 'F-Bomb' Camaro

Jethro, actually, I was thinking of how cool your car would be for something like this.

I have no plans to do this to my car ever since my car developed transmission problems.

I would have given this car the name " Flying Turd" to lighten up the mood of other drivers
around me.
( Besides, that's what my girlfriend thinks the car resembles. )

You quoted all those pics just to say "nice pics"?!?

Yeah, if anyone does it, it will be perfect for the times. Every time you drive somewhere you can declare war on traffic, pedestrians, wildlife... the possibilities are endless.

Frank: I fixed it :P

Cd: this...

Cd... absolutely brilliant! Very nice approach to having a bit of fun with ecomodding... it fits nicely into the aero theme! Great images!

I like the idea of listing the 'kills' on the sides... for me, I'd prefer the 55gal oil drum... every time I save another 55gal of fuel (based on EPA), I'd put another 'drum kill' on the side... so I'd show a running total of fuel saved over the life of the car. I'd have 4 drums on there right now... :D (yes, yes, I know that 55gal of oil does not yield 55gal of fuel, but I think people would 'get it' nevertheless)
