...so, pretty soon we'll be promised a 45 mpg, 5,000 pound super-subcompact with 1-cylinder engine that has 24 airbags (and built-in toilet/bidet for when they deploy and scare the sh!t out of passengers) that can neither accelerate nor get 45 mpg, unless it's being towed.

Oh come now, don't exaggerate. It will only weigh 4,500 lbs. and be made of carbon fiber and titanium and cost $178,000.

Dont worry the gobberment will offer a 160 thousand tax credit to those who purchase it. So it will only cost the end user 18 thousand.
Then next years mode will have 3 more air bags and a larger motor.
