Do a google for free python PDFs - there are more than you can shake a stack of sticks at

I recommend this one for starting out

Haven't touched it for a couple of months though. Also look for one about game writing in Python - thats pretty good too.

I just got a message from Allied that they expect to ship on January 15, 2013.
Does anyone have them in stock?

I got mine from Element14 (Design Engineer Community | Online Electronic Resources and Support Homepage - element14) just after launch with a free T-shirt - always a sucker for free T's. You could try them but they will sting you for delivery to the US. If anyone else is interested I could get them delivered here and package them all to one place in the US and then that person could send them on maybe ?

Hello -

Raspberry Pi Accessories | Newark - out of stock, boo!!!

11 of the best, and the most unusual, Raspberry Pi cases | Computer Chips & Hardware Technology | Geek.com
Quote:
there are a multitude of enclosures that can protect the little guy. Whatever kind of case you’re looking for, be it sleek, hilarious, or colorful, there’s a Raspberry Pi case out there for you!

Some of the cases in this roundup are for sales, while others are custom jobs that you can use for inspiration before you tackle your very own Raspberry Pi project.
My favorite is the Lego case.

Hi
I got it in the mail yesterday. I downloaded the installer program into my laptop and then installed the torrant program before I left my office last evening.

When I got home I hooked it up and couldn't get it to boot. The red LED came on but the green light never blinked. Going to check the installtion of the software back at my office.

Hoping for not having a dead unit. I checked the voltage and got 5.09 at the two TP's.

Mine did this too.

Check the SD card is working and that a screen is plugged in. Might also be worth checking the card is on the list of ones known to work.

If it is try re making it with a fresh image.

Mine is at home so I can't check.

EDIT did you actually make a disk image on the sdcard ?

EDIT2 - Just did a quick check on the forums and very few seem to be faulty so stick at it - apparently returned units are turning out to be OK most of the time.

The most likely culprit is the SD Card or the SD Card writer. If you have a multi-card thing it might be worth trying that. I have 3 laptops at home (people just keep giving me their old ones) and only one of them (ASUS 1201N) can write a working card image - my work Dell and semi-desktop ASUS laptop won't most of the time.
