Now *that* is a hybrid!

From the Geneva 2009 show:

Geneva Show 2009: Frazer-Nash Namir by Giugiaro

I don't know anything about this car, but with 4 electric motors; it sure got my attention!

" And a range of 1,200 miles "

Uh ......... are those miles in 1/100 scale ?

( I think they must mean 120 miles - surely. )

You may find this write up of the engine interesting:

www.libralato.co.uk/docs/Libralato_Engine_Technical_Summary.pdf

Unfortunately the description does not include the BSFC or compare the Atkinson cycle, piston engine in the graph. A minor point but I get a little anxious when someone claims "50% efficiency" without providing a traditional BSFC chart.

The first article claims 39km per liter, which is 91.73 MPG. It has a 50L (~13 gallon) tank, so as long as the MPG remains consistent, 1200 miles is definitely achievable. It's pretty amazing that they could have gotten away with a 5 gallon tank, and still had more range than most cars out there today.
