...pardon my nievety, but we need more advanced humans, not more advanced technologies.

...human-kind has been limping along with the same-o homo sapiens for quite awhile now, relying upon our technology improvements for all improvements.

...maybe we need a "better" human?

Christ, but that's what certain tribes have been doing for centuries: they believe that if you eat someone, you acquire their knowledge and courage. That's why I ate my Grandpa (just kidding ).
I doubt that knowledge can be transfered through the intestines, but strength can - in the form of a protein rich meal
