The Cd is more influential than the area, since the Cd essentially divides the area. So, removing the mirrors reduces the area AND reduces the Cd. If the Cd drops from 0.30 to 0.29 and the area drops from 25 square feet to 24.4 square feet, then the CdA drops from 7.5 sq ft to 7.076 sq ft, which is ~5.5% reduction, which sounds significant to me.

For what it's worth, all the aero mods before doing my video mirrors on my xA dropped the Cd from 0.31 to about 0.27 (according to my coast down test), so another 5% reduction would be significant.
