MPG Test: 2012 Toyota Camry LE
Wife talked me into taking a pre-summer weekend get away. Drove from Muncie, IN to the Smokey Mountain National Park, TN.
Rented a 2012 Toyota Camry LE. Nice car, but not for me. Had so many gauges, knobs, switches, touch screen radio display, steering wheel radio controls, cell phone interface, cruise on the wheel, tilt....to much. The seat was uncomfortable too, felt like a park bench. Wife loved it, but I wouldn't let her drive, lol. To many distractions taking focus off the road. I wish it were more, how I say it, 'Dumbed down' some more. Give me plush comfortable seats, manual windows and door locks, a 5 / 6 speed manual, simple radio controls, etc.
Somehow lost the initial fuel up going to the park. But, have the fuel receipts from the other 2 fill ups.
The first is going through the park, up and down the mountain. Not great.
Miles driven - 254 miles
Gallons Used - 9.237
254 miles divided by 9.237 gallons = 27.5 Miles per gallon
Second, fill up was coming out of the park. Where it was nearly all 65 to 70 miles per hour interstate with the cruise set. Was curious what the car could deliver without hypermiling assist. The fill ups were both used by fueling up with the low kick off on the gas station pump set.
Miles driven - 290 miles
Gallons Used - 7.6
290 miles divided by 7.6 = 38.157 Miles per gallon
