Is there a variety of LCD we can use?

I bought the one in the schematic page to start with and I wound up damaging it, I think. I'll get another if I need to, but I was wondering if there were lots of others that will work just the same? I'd be particularly interested in ones with wider spaced soldering points or a bigger screen.

I think all the HD44780 compatible display should work.
Take a look on eBay for some cheap ones, there is some 16x2 at $3 or $4, search for HD44780.

I saw one on eBay that was a 2x40 display. I would be interested in it if I could get 8 things displayed instead of just 4 on the 2x16, but have to get it hooked up and running before I start messing with it. Anyone know if there would be a reason why a 2x40 display that is HD44780 wouldn't work? what kind of changes would need to be made to the code to get it to display 8 items at a time? It would block about twice as much of my console, but I would basically not need the console if I had that much display power!

Watch out for the temperature range and the blue ones have a lot of glare. The green one in post seems like a good one.

For different sizes you will have to customize the code, it isn't terribly hard if you know something about those things. But if you don't want to do deal with the programming you can just daisy chain guinos together with a simple "Y" adapter: http://ecomodder.com/forum/showthrea...html#post47387

Just set them up with the same parameters.
