Question MPGuino and a 92 Geo Metro LSi Convertible

I've got a 92 Convertible with a 1.0L and M5 transmission. Will the MPGuino work with my car? I keep seeing the VSS mentioned, this is a variable speed sensor, right? Is this electronic and does my car have one. I always thought (assumed) my speedometer was cable driven. Someone please clarify. I need realtime data for future aeromods and other improvements. - Dale

I wouldn't trust me on this, but I would hazard a "Yes" because, while the speedo is cable-driven, there is an electronic VSS signal that goes from the speedo to the ECU.

For the MPGuino, VSS is "Vehicle Speed Signal." There are 4 or 5 guys with Metros already running them - I think you'll be just fine, and have some help from others too.

Thanks for the encouraging posts and the VSS clarification.

Could someone with an early 90's metro with a 5 speed confirm the compatability of the MPGuino? And are there appropriate installation instructions available? Thanks in advance. - Dale
