Serial hybrid pickemup

Part of the pitch is a diesel heater for the battery; and having a diesel generator in your driveway.

' serial diesel hybrid '

The petite-capitalist in me might shy away from the 5.98% overall, well-to-wheels efficiency. Houthi rebels controlling the global price of Diesel. And the class-action lawsuits from downwind neighbor's lawsuits over PM 2.5 absorbing into their newborn baby's brain. Plus, Diesel's really stink!
Other than that, they're great!

I've thought a PHEV truck with a diesel engine tuned to peak efficiency at ~75 horsepower output might be an efficient solution. Have it cycle on and off as needed, with most trips completed on battery alone. No complicated transmission, no shifting, no transmission issues, regenerative braking to keep things cool on descent.

What I found interesting is the productizing process, completely replacing the axles to simplify accommodating varied vehicles.

Although they do look a little heavier.

I have no doubts about the well-to-wheels efficiency number, but I'd be curious to see your breakdown of where the biggest losses are.

Biggest loss of course is going to be ICE inefficiency. There goes 70% right there. Can't speak to the pre-combustion losses.
