NeilBlanchard, One of the modulators pissed me off the other day so I deleted some stuff.

They arent the only ones who can delete.

Yes, it is, well worth the effort and investment even if its all Chinese made panels and stuff. With the economy a lot of people are selling their solar setups, so some good deals can be had.

For grid tie setup you want panels with higher output in voltage. typically most panels are tailored to connect to a lead acid battery bank so the voltage is around 12-15 volts. Grid tie inverters have a wide range of voltages they work from and their most efficient range is a little less than its max rating. Ie a 300 watt unit works best at about 150 watts. The 1200 watt units is 4 300 watt units in parallel.

At times our meter rolls backwards as we are using the grid as a bank.
