My Aeromodded Civic Bumper
3 Attachment(s)
I had a spare front bumper for Thrifty McGassaver (my VX) and this is what I've done with it so far:

Took about 20 hours to get to this stage. Next up is a lower lip air dam. |
Damn... that looks nice.
Any way (not that you'd want to now) that you could move the air inlet to the middle, and use the plate as a high-speed grille block? Or even block the bumper's grille altogether, and use a pan-scoop under the plastic bumper cover to scoop air up into the radiator area... Again, not that you'd want to now. That bumper cover looks sick, though. Great work. Did you ABS-weld it, or just add FG, or is the whole thing FG/CF? |

All in all I will plastic weld my next one I do this winter. It will end up being less work and better results. There is a touch of separation on this bumper already. I made this bumper for use in winter here in MN. I like the results so much though that I will be doing something similar with my summer bumper. The inlet is on the side because that is where the radiator sits in my Civic. The factory block off is still intact next to the radiator as well so I just made the opening over there, similar to how my summer bumper is setup but you can't see the opening on my summer bumper. I have a grill insert that hides the Coroplast grill block. I had thought about closing up the whole front since I'll be using it for winter, but after it snows a little, the opening will get packed up with snow anyways, lol. And Ben, don't be jealous, we can do something like that for your CRX bumper too once you get done with your swap. |
I like it.
I like the psychedelic plate- I have a t-shirt kinda like that! |
VERY nice! It'll be interesting to see the reaction from ricers. First they'll see the carbon hood and think you are a ricer. Then they'll see the bumper and look confused! Excellent!

It would be super cool if Honda had offered a bumper like this from scratch. But then the drag racers would jsut have one more reason to molest a perfectly good VX, lol. |
If the bumper is made of ABS (I can't remember) you can use Acetone to melt pieces in a cup. They'll turn to sludgy paste, and then you scoop that out and slap it on the seams, agitating and letting it dry, so the Acetone melts both surfaces and eventually they all mix together w/ the filler.
