I'll be installing my tiny aero side view mirrors this weekend for sure!

I'll clean them up and smooth out a couple of bumps in the finish and re-shoot some gloss black paint on them first. They are really tiny, and will only protrude out about three inches from the car. They're probably as aerodynamic as side mirrors can be without removing them altogether and going with a camera system.

Need to at least try to get the clutch switch and regen buttons functional this weekend if possible. My driving style is not very IMA-friendly, and I've had a lot of force charging this tank combined with a negative recal last night. I'm pushing the battery a little too hard, so I need to install the clutch switch to give it a rest.

I'm also going to grid charge it tonight to pep it up a bit.

Got one of the mirrors installed, now I'm heading over to my son's house to install the other one, and the shift knobs on both cars.

Mirror needs a boat tail.

Well, I broke 70 mpg and 700 miles for the first time!

Then my son and I installed my three button shifter (but only had time for the clutch switch so far)! Thanks to my boy KFM, I couldn't have done all that today without you!

Woohoo, nice job.

Are those mirrors actually functional and useful? They almost seem too small to be useful.

They're functional, but I'm going to couple them with a panoramic rear view mirror just to be sure! Already ordered one from Amazon this morning.

I may eventually switch to a camera system like my sons both have.

Bought them off some guy on IC. The minute I saw them I knew they'd end up on my car.

They're exactly what I would make if I had the time, ambition and skill to do it, so luckily somebody else had all of the above and was selling them!

*edit*

The panoramic mirror came last night. Took a pic of it laying on the counter before installing it, the tiles are 12" if that gives you an idea of the size. Works great, and clipped right to my existing mirror.

Used the new panoramic mirror in traffic for the first time this morning, and wow, it was like I was in a Pacer instead of an Insight!

There is absolutely no blind spot with my new set-up, something I didn't even have when I had those big ping pong paddle side view mirrors, it's even better than the camera system I had in Turtle.

As a bonus, headlight glare is diminished due to the convex mirror.

I'm going to say I got my 11 bucks worth on this mod!

The combination of my route change and the new side mirrors seems to be helping a lot.
