No exhaust pipe mods is needed in manual conversion if the car has stock exhaust pipe, if you choose the rigid gear stick system and not the cable version.

I havent done cable conversions, but I think that does not need either mods to exhaust, but rigid gear stick is more precise at least in my opinion.
