My middle son (25) bought a COOL fast car!

I have not seen this car, but I did see his 1st LS1 conversion when it broke into the 11s on street tires. The guy is putting in another clutch and fixing the one headlight that is out. I don't like the fart can, but it sounds like a loud NASCAR car at high revs and is LOUD when nailed! I gave my son a line to a couple of real nice stock drivers seats.

The best thing to happen to an Rx-7 is the LS1.

Very fun cars.
Buddy of mine had a LS6 with Cam, heads, and coil overs in one MAN was it crazy. Car sold overseas for some crazy $ about 2 years ago. Man I miss that car.

A friend of mine bought one because he was curious about rotaries. We fixed it up a lot, and sold it at a loss. They are hopeless for mileage, too.

Are they ever useless for MPG? the milage improves enormously when swapping in a V8.

I think that depends. I had an RX3 back in the late '70s, when I was doing a lot of long-distance (as in LA to Las Vegas to Alburquerque to Phoenix..) travelling for work. If memory serves, though it was worse than pathetic - like single digits, and 10% of that was oil - around town, on a long drive it got decent mpg - and the effective top speed was limited only by your nerve & the density of speed cops.
