Nascar does P and G

So watching Nascar and they're at a caution, to save fuel they pulse and glide! Hmm, taking cues from hypermilers....

Does it count when they're trying to conserve their tires, too?

Jimmie Johnson won the race by conserving enough fuel Saving tires counts to, I think.
They only get 2 mpg when racing ,4mpg while in caution. It would be awsome to see some technology allowed, like a turbo v6 that gets 3/6 mpg.then the real racing could begin.

Tony Stewart won a race at Pocono by cutting his engine in braking zones. After the race he admitted his strategy was to drive the entire track without touching the brake pedal. Clearly he's read the "100+ Hypermiling Tips" page!

I am just waiting for the Tony Stewart/Toyota Prius team up. He can run the entire race without stopping.
