Fold out extensions for vans, etc?

Dumb question 101: If the fold out extensions on the back of big rigs helps enough to pay for the extension, why hasn't someone come out with fold out extensions for vans, etc.

My guess would be, lack of standardization of dimensions and shape. Trailers are typically the same dimensions with the same door design, so it's easy to market a product that will fit practically any trailer. To do the same for vans/SUVs, you would have to redesign (expensive) and manufacture (also expensive, especially in small quantities) a different mounting system for every model. Not to mention the extensive testing that would be required--Van A might achieve best drag reduction with panels of a different length or at a different angle than Van B.

Because there would be no market for them. People in this country care more about looks than efficiency. On your next commute take note of all the full sized pick-ups and modified Jeeps that are used as daily driver/commuter cars.

Bondo created an aero topper for the Ford F-150 (the most popular vehicle in the US) but never realized widespread commercial success with it.

Bondo

Yep, he gave us 'CYBERTRUCK' in 2012, and there were only a few takers.
