New, Broncho II -possible EV conversion

I am living here at San Ildefonso Pueblo near Los Alamos NM.
I have a 1987 Broncho II that was getting 30 mpg (yes, 30 mpg).
I had to replace the clutch so I took out the engine. Been 1.5 years - lack of funds.
Seriously considering EV conversion. My wife would be using the car only on the reservation - we use it to take our 4 dogs to a safe place to run and romp - in arroyos, in the bosque (woods) out in the hilly area. Maybe 2-8 miles per day tops. Would be great not to have to worry about gas, oil, antifreeze, etc. Just lubing and bearings.
It's a 4x4.
I hope I can do it....any encouraging words?
