New Car! 2012 Fiat 500

Hi y'all, just bought a new toy to mod and play with, a Fiat 500 Pop.

Right now I wouldn't care care what the mpg is because I am intoxicated by that new car smell... it's been over a decade since I bought a new car and wow I almost forgot how great a smell that is

But, even though I am intoxicated, I did take Blanco for his first eco run on the same 92 mile loop I've used on my other cars. Blanco got 44.5 mpg.

So far all I have done is up the tire pressure from 30psi to 38psi, remove the plastic hubcaps, and ditch the under seat onboard air compressor (no spare tire on this one - it's optional lol) for a 10 lb weight savings.

It's a 101hp 1.4l "multi air" 4 cyl motor. A fantastic little motor design. Wish I thought of it!

Technology explained here:

LOL - I get friends telling me that they liked the car until they saw those damn J-Lo commercials.

This is my second Fiat, the first being a 1975 X1/9 back in the early 80's.

Very cool engine. I had read that only the expensive 2 cyl turbo was multi air but that is obviously wrong. I have been saying for decades that we need to get rid of the camshaft to make the valve timing and lift infinitely variable. This, and the BMW engines have pretty much achieved that. Now to get the price of direct injection and turbos down into the econo cars.

...that Abarth TV-commercial is a "riot" -- the one with the Italian young-lady with the Abarth tatoo on the back of her neck! Can YOU say, "...SEX sells..."? Sure you can!
