"new" Geo Metro

Hi All,

I just drove home my first Geo. It is a 1992 Metro, automatic and get this, only 83000 miles on it! I have high hopes. It already doesn't have power steering, and since the A/C is shot, It will be coming out also. It is fairly clean, though I will have more cleaning to do. Body is straight with no rust, but the clear coat is peeling. I will do the usual fluid changes hopefully this weekend and start removing unnecessary items. I plan on removing the rear seat and building a light weight platform.

I was able to use the Previa as a proof of concept and I will be moving the deep cycle battery and solar panel from it. I don't think I will mount the large panel for now. It was able to charge the battery in just a few hours, so even though I did not experience any negative performance gains with it, I will leave it off for now and use a small portable one.

That's great that the body has no rust. That's one of the biggest issues when buying a 20 year old car
