New Hyundai's

Was getting my Sonata serviced yesterday and was talking with the sales guys about the Elantra. One said a man bought one for his wife, an auto, and she drove to Florida and back and the man said she got 52 mpg!

Curious about the new Accent since it is also gdi. Should be a fairly easy 60 mpg.

Who needs a hybrid!

...Gasoline Direct Injection (GDI) definitely is the "...next BIG thing..." (besides turbocharging) for small, high-efficiency engines!

The US market elantra has a 1.8 liter port injection engine, not direct injection. There is a good chance there will be a gdi version in the near future but not yet. The accent is getting a 1.6 gdi in the US from the beginning. Its curious that the accent and elantra have identical FE numbers.
