New News from GM/Chrysler Merger

Fresh off the presses regarding possible merger between GM and Chrysler...article claims merger proposed to take place before presidential elections...

For the life of me, I just don't see what Chrysler has to offer to GM beyond a couple of engine plants. Maybe their minivan brand.

They have the same enormous legacy costs and less revenue to cover them.

If GM holds onto Jeep, the minivans, and the engine plants.

If that is the case 80% of their employees hit the bricks and Chrysler dealerships are toast.

From what I've read thats the only gain from GM; Chryslers cash. If the merger goes through the plan is to trash their current infrastructure.

Well, that will also trash some of their competition in particular fields like the Durango, which is still popular (for some reason)

Really? Rare is the Durango out here, both in Socal and up in the Bay Area. I see way more Yukons/Tahoes
