A new perspective on Pulse and Glide

I really do not like being in anyone's way, whether driving, in a store, or whatever, although I do not feel too bad when I prevent others from breaking the law, and since I walk faster than some jog, and some never even jog, usually people are in my way [on foot].

When my UltraGauge showed my total mileage going down I started working harder and harder to keep it high. It currently says 27 MPG, which I figure is actually mid twenty-fives.

My last tank was right at twenty-four. I guess that highway EPA is not bad for mixed driving on winter fuel, but I am not happy with it.

Anyway, I finally decided that people should not be behind me anyway, so if my pulsing-and-gliding encourages them to pass, so be it!

If they have clear opportunity to pass you, let them. If they choose not to, it's their fault and not yours. It's a different story on a winding 2-lane road, but it sounds like you're on a multilane.

Yup, thats what I do now. I accelerate til I get cut off, then I glide til I am cut off and repeat.

Whats funny is that I can accelerate at 4 grand, have 16 car lengths between me and all the cars in line at a stop light, but one. I am going 5 over the posted limit. 3 lanes or more of traffic, no sooner I slow to the actual speed limit as my glide part, ZOOM, the lone car that paces me accelerates as I slow, crosses in front of me to go to the right lane while I am in the center lane.

This is just soo comical its insane.

I always hate it when I am trying to change lanes and the vehicle behind me, the one that I am trying to let pass, cuts around and then pulls back in front. If they just let me change lanes I would have been out of their way!

Around here, the streets are at four lanes and the freeway is always at least three.

Yeah, those guys are the worse. Its my experience they are either Lexus or Benzes that do that. Must be boosted to get get sudden acceleration?

I like the guy who travel in the center lane, then turn left or right at an interesection.
