New Technologies

Hello,

I noticed this on the Enginer.us web site:

Steam Micro Turbine Engine | Enginer | Hybrid Plug In, Plugin

The details are pretty sketchy; like how is the steam generated, and is the steam/water recycled in the system? But the efficiency numbers grabbed my attention: 40-80% ! A 5kW generator with that kind of efficiency and size (17"x10"x10") sounds great.

Other very interesting items are:

Hey, this is timing for you! Here's a very fast serial hybrid that uses a Capstone microturbine as a range extender...

80 miles on the battery, and 42mpg after that for ~500 total range. Oh, and 0-60 in 3.9 seconds...
