Unhappy Metro XFI - Tire sizes

I just bought a 91' XFI. My first eco-car.
It needs two new rear tires. I couldn't find any and neither could my local tire shop that fit and meet stock OEM size.

The car calls for P145/80r12
I can't find any P155 either that have tread pattern other than snow.

Does anyone know any statistics or insight as to how many MPGs I will lose if I go with 80r13's or something a little bigger? I'd hate to do that all the way around. I'm trying to fit the front tires as much as possible to save on the cost of all 4 new tires.

Thanks in advance!

Nankang tires are made in Taiwan and I have never used them but from looking at their web site I would guess that they are bottom of the barrel tires, if they were all that you could get then you might check at some junk yards and see if they had some used tires of another brand to sell you.

Yokohama tires on the other hand are supposed to be really good, made in Japan, decent snow tires, I think they make some good low rolling resistance tires as well.

These might not be the top of the line Yokohama's but they should work.

Kumo also makes some 12" tires.

Thanks for the quick reply Ryland.

My parents have the 10" Kumo power star tires on their Honda N600 and they ride nice, quite, good traction, but if you can, I would get the 145mm wide tires.
