New vehicle in the garage...

There is now a 1990 GMC day cab tractor sitting in the driveway....

It has an L10 cummins with turbo and Eaton 9 speed. Single axle plus tag.
Not sure of the fuel mileage because the previous owner didn't keep track. It seemed pretty good on the way home. Plenty of power and it sounds great.

I have been looking at the high mpg bullet truck and would like to get a list put together of the most important mods. I know rounding the front will help, and fiberglass will take care of that. How about a belly pan?

If you have ideas throw them out.

Fiberglass will also take some weight out. BTW have you ever considered to make a fiberglass oil pan, just like the one used in the Detroit Diesel Series 60?

We just did a major in-frame on my dad's detroit 60 about 3 weeks ago. That oil pan weighed about 5lbs. This day cab has an oil pan guard so fiberglass would be just fine.
I will post pics when I get a few minutes.

Post some pictures of the truck, it would help to figure out other measures which would lead to an increse to the fuel-savings.
