Newbie with an Escape Hybrid in Boston

It was time to get a new car and as a SCUBA instructor in Boston (an avoidable career choice by the way...) the Hybrid Escape was the way to go.

About a 1000 miles in owing to a family emergency a few hours out of town and running at about 29.7 mph. Still lots to learn on how to best wrangle this beast, but looking forward to the battle.

If I can drum up the extra time and funds may try to put together an electric motorcycle this summer as well...

cool love to see what hypermiling can do for these hybrid SUV's.. get a scan gauge , it will help LOADS in getting great MPG.. we got our 25 mpg highway rated Chevy Colorado up to 35.7 mpg... no mods except a scangauge

Welcome to the site. I know for a fact the Escape Hybrid gets better fuel economy in city driving conditions compared to highway. Enjoy your stay.

Welcome to the site. Wouldn't the escape already have a Prius like instang MPG (among other thing) display? If thats the case, scangauge is not needed.
