Hello from Oakland

Hi Everyone,

This is Dan from Oakland, CA. I'm an EV fan and driver, and therefore by default I have a great interest in efficiency, aerodynamic design and techniques.

I've just recently discovered this forum while googling for information on how to improve aero drag for trailers. In just the handful days since finding you all, I have learned a lot (mostly how little I knew :-). My head hurts already!

I'm a hydronic heating contractor by trade, so no background or training in aerodynamics or engineering, but I'm good at taking direction and building/fabrication. I look forward to learning what I can from this knowledgeable community, and hopefully helping others in the process.

I will be starting a thread to get input, comments and critiques on my small camping trailer project to be towed by my Tesla Model Y.

Thank you all in advance.

EVs are actually not my cup of tea, yet I can't deny they tend to allow a greater freedom to enhance their aerodynamic profile.

Great thread idea. We have had other folks come looking for ideas on aero trailers. Will be great to see how it's going and add ideas.

I will rebuild Black and Green over decades as parts die, until it becomes a different car of roughly the same shape and color. My minimum fuel economy goal is 55 mpg while averaging posted speed limits. I generally top 60 mpg. See also my Honda manual transmission specs thread.
