Nose job nets 14.76% increase in fe
I'm back from vacation and the nose job is finally done. I used Blue Magic Pure Rubber Coating to cover it. After 1669 miles of testing the results are rather impressive. Now, this is a 1991 Honda Civic DX with an automatic transmission and no cruise control. My average MPG at 55MPH previous to the nose mod was 39.4MPG. After the mod the average is 45.215MPG. At 60MPH the average is 43.504MPG and at 65MPH it is 42.532MPG. These were all accomplished in real world driving, in all kinds of weather. Always filling at the same gas pump, the same way. http://ecomodder.com/forum/showthrea...job-17534.html

Impressive figures. Do you plan on doing an A-B-A test ? Unless of course the nose is not easily detachable.
Keep up the good work. |
The nose in not removable. However I did over 2500 miles of testing without it on; before I installed it. Those figures gave me the average at 55 to compare my results to. thanks

Thanks, your right about that. Especially since according to the EPA; you should have a 8% decrease in FE from 55 to 65. I hope to do even better in the future with more mods.

Well done, Quasi! Great results for a characterful mod. Any plans to work on the back end yet?

Congrats on the improvement and great work with the nose modification.

A-B-A-B test please.
Something seems a little off. From the start, your car should have had attached flow with the stock bumper. It seems you meerly extended the bumper and rounded it a bit. The back of the car is a real drag. |
