Fuel deprivation after a decent stretch of driving (and despite switching to reserve) : check the tank vent line.

If you don't want to stop, open the tank cap briefly to see if it goes away.

Seems like the Insight must have had a fill error and experienced some expansion of the gas volume from higher temps at the time of top off to end up showing 78 mpg during hard challenge conditions in a vehicle that the owner knows will normally only get 60 mpgUS as my Insight does.
