Officials propose per-mile tax for gas sippers

I was curious when this was going to come up. In regards to wear on the road there should be a tax on studded snow tires then right?

Hopefully these taxes don't go through and affect those early adopters of technology or those of us who choose to drive economical vehicles and drive conservatively.
