I've had fun comparing my "nut behind the wheel" to others. Occasionally I have to rent a car for one-way travel. These days most rentals have helpful onboard trip/eco displays. I note the history and see how far I can improve the stats before I return the car. I'm amazed by the difference.
Best trip yet was a 500 mile drive in a "Skyactive" Mazda 3. The "miles to empty" climbed for half the trip. (250 at pickup, 260 at halfway point) I joked that at this rate we would have to stop and let some gas out.

That's pretty good hamsterpower!
I love that, "stop and let some gas out"
I haven't had a chance to do that yet.

The last car I rented was a 2017 V6 Mustang for a road trip out west.
A V8 Camaro was also available, but we decided for the Mustang so we didn't wind up dead or incarcerated on unfamiliar roads, it had a top speed 70mph higher than the Mustang

Gas mileage was not my main focus at that time. I was impressed though, the little car returned 27mpg in spite of the 1,800 "very spirited" driving it endured.
