Extreme EV Range

Hi everyone,

I love pushing things to their limit, and I've always been curious about the absolute maximum range you can get out of an EV.
I found that Inside Line were able to drive a Leaf 132 miles on a single charge on a closed course at a constant 35mph. 2011 Nissan Leaf: Driving It To The Bitter End

I was wondering if anyone knows of other tests of production EV's absolute maximum range? I would also love to find out if anyone has done such a 'test' on public roads, and how close they got to the absolute range.

Wayne Gerdes has driven the Mitsubishi i MiEV 124 miles; which is pretty good considering it has a 16kWh pack vs the 24kWh Leaf pack. We should be hearing about the Honda Fit EV fairly soon -- it has a slightly longer range than the Leaf even though the pack is ~20kWh.

And the Tesla Model S should be able to easily top 300-325 miles.

Well to bring back an old thread, I am borrowing my cousins 2014 leaf now and just drove it to work, put about 60km on it with about 39 coming off the range. Avg km/kwh was 8.3. I was max out at 75km/hr and got pretty good timing of lights for the drive. I figure if I kept that up I could hit 200km (125miles) when the charge had estimated 133. This was a 100% charge and you are recomended to only charge to 80% for regular use.

This was also my first time driving the car and with stock PSI on the 17in rubber. If I bought one I would lower it and use light weight 15s with 50psi+.
