Parking distance control / backup sensors

I know everyones first reaction is "that's not an Ecomod", but I have a few arguments to counter. I definitely felt the same way when installed mine, but after driving with them for a while . . . .

1) Getting closer "safely" while backing up in parking lots can often times eliminate a cycle of Forward / reverse. Obvious fuel savings there, yes you can judge your own distances, but extra instrumentation always helps at very least with confidence.

2) Willingness to reverse faster due to extra data can decrease fuel usage, probably more than anything clutch wear.

3) Less repairs to back bumper. Just think, saving the paint/ filler/ even a bumper definite Eco Savings.

Draw on mine is about 1.5 amps @12 volts and ONLY draws when the revers lights are illuminated.

Just something to consider.

Ecomod or not, I think it's a valuable thing to do to make driving safer and less stressful

I think it's a great addition to a kammback or boattail, no doubt!! Since our car is loooong, and the Wife is a new driver, I'm on the look out for parking sensors. Just too lazy to actually do it:/

Excellant point, I totally didn't consider that.

Mine are "oem" (got them on sale) but they are actually just Cobra, I'm sure that the Ebay ones are the same.
